For Our Climate

This year's selection originates from wholesale nurseries in Washington, Montana Oregon, and Idaho, offering healthy and robust stock cultivated in the Northwest, specifically chosen for our unique climate. By buying in bulk, the District can offer high-quality plants at competitive prices. All plants are available for purchase through pre-order only.

Zone 3: 5-Cubic inch plugs. Large, straight tree to 100 feet or more. Deciduous conifer with soft light-green needles that turn yellow and drop in the fall. Appears dead in winter. Habitat is mountain slopes and valleys on porous, gravely, sandy and loamy soils. Full sun to part shade. Needs more moisture. Native

Douglas Fir

Douglas Fir

Zone 4-7: 5-Cubic inch plugs.  Used extensively as Christmas Trees. It needs a well-drained soil for best growth and can reach mature height of over 100’ Mature Douglas-fir is a relatively fire-resistant tree.

Zone 4-8 : It has a sweet, crisp flavor. Perfect for eating, baking and making applesauce or cider.

Zone 4-8: 20% more sugars than other varieties. Late growth protects from early frost. Mild flavor, tender texture. Purple spears turn green when cooked.

Zone 4-9: 10-Cubic inch plugs. Moderate drought tolerant, dusty pink/rose flowers. Full sun, deer resistant. Height of 1 1/2—3 feet. Bees, butterflies and hummingbirds love it.

Zone 3-9: 10.-Cubic inch plugs. Flowers are pale blue to purple. 12”-24” tall. Thrives in various habitats. Attracts a variety of pollinators.

Zone 2-6: 10-Cubic inch plugs. Flowers are small and white, Fruit is glossy, orange and berry-like. Grows on rocky hillsides, open woods and along streams.
